This blog aims to help gallstone sufferers and their families find new recipe ideas when trying to follow a fat-free or low-fat gallstones diet. It also contains information and advice that I have found useful and interesting. This blog is compiled from personal experience as there have been several gallstones sufferers in my family in recent years.
I'm a 40-something mum who's developed a keen interest in the way the food we eat affects our health and wellbeing.
In recent months I've had cause to do a lot of research on food for gallstones sufferers. My elderly mother was diagnosed with gallstones several months ago and told to eat a fat-free diet. She soon became bored with the few, basic recipe ideas she could think of, so I thought I'd try to help.
I've created this blog because there seems to be little practical help available in the way of gallstones diets and food ideas for gallstones sufferers.
I thought I'd try to bring together recipe ideas for gallstones sufferers as well as any hints and tips on managing with gallstones, which I've come across during my research.
Let me say here and now that I am not a doctor, just someone with a keen interest in diet and health, so no material in this blog should be taken as a prescription. For qualified medical advice, always see your doctor.
That said, I hope this blog of my experiences will prove helpful for all those gallstones sufferers out there and their families.
